Designing Strategy for Results

Price: $1850 (exc GST)

Effective strategy creates value for an organisation’s customers and stakeholders and captures value for the organisation. But before developing an effective strategy, you must first understand the overarching business question or problem, and the context. With this insight, you can design innovative and relevant business solutions that link to execution and results.

Designing Strategy for Results demonstrates how two disciplines - design and innovation – contribute to leading-edge strategy. It explores the Business Model View, a framework for developing results driven strategy.
With a particular focus on strategy execution, the course integrates Strategy Mapping, a design tool that enables a visual, experiential, cause and effect model of value creation and capture. It also uses Strategic Initiatives management, a tool that outlines how to apply strategy in the workplace.

As you apply these frameworks and tools to live case studies and your own organisational scenarios, you will gain a deeper understanding of strategy building.

Additional strategic review option

As a course follow up exercise, you will have the option of a ‘strategic review’ of your own organisation’s strategy with your course facilitator. This review will involve on the spot detailed feedback and recommendations.

If you wish to take advantage of this follow up opportunity, you will be asked to apply the course concepts in collaboration with your management team and must be prepared to present your ‘strategy’ to your facilitator. Discuss arrangements, including the fee for this follow up exercise, with a member of the Client Services Team via execed@business.uq.edu.au
