Join us for the first of our Senior Executives Breakfast series, Personal Branding in the Digital Age, on 18 July 2017. This event series explores the latest trends and topics that impact leading senior executives.
Personal branding has become increasingly important. Your business brand is about much more than your business in isolation – it’s personal. As a CEO or senior executive, your personal identity, and your business’ people and culture speaks volumes about its values, vision, and purpose.
What’s more, your personal brand has never been more transparent and accessible to stakeholders, with the advent of digital and social media, and the proliferation of online business, marketing, and communication.
Creating and maintaining your online personal brand is imperative for CEOs and senior executives.
Your brand should capture and promote your unique attributes and strengths on the right platforms to engage your key internal and external stakeholders. Getting this right creates an opportunity to champion and leverage your qualities for the benefit of both your personal image and your organisation's reputation.
Delivered by Dr Nicole Hartley from UQ Business School, Richard Triggs from Arete Executive, and Demetri Hughes from 1Up Communications, this interactive event will explore what it means to establish a powerful personal brand, and how you can ensure your brand is distinct and authentic.
You will gain insights into some of the digital tools that you can use to best communicate your personal brand, and discuss best practices and the key pitfalls executives can encounter.
Dr Nicole Hartley
Dr Nicole Hartley is a research academic with UQ Business School. With teaching expertise in advertising, marketing strategy, digital media and consumer behaviour, her career as an academic has spanned 14 years at institutions in both Sydney and Queensland. Her specific research interests include: service technology, virtualised services, customer-brand relationships, message framing, new media, and service innovation.
Nicole’s current research agenda focuses on exploring customer perceptions of the advent of technology and various forms of disruption in the delivery of services. This research is currently focused within the education, tourism, and health industries. Further to this, she works closely with companies in the Brisbane technology start-up and social enterprise scene. This work is focused on advising marketing advertising strategies to launch new-to-market technology-based products and services both nationally and globally.
Demetri is the Managing Director of boutique consultancy 1Up Communications, and a sessional lecturer at UQ Business School.
His passion is brand prosperity. He works to create remarkable branding and marketing solutions for businesses and their senior executives, who are seeking to expand their opportunities for growth and profitability. He also has considerable applied experience in issues mitigation and crisis management, marketing, branding, investor relations and stakeholder engagement fields, blended with academic knowledge to deliver exceptional results.
Demetri's experience, as both a business owner and consultant to clients, has spanned a variety of industry sectors, locally and overseas.
Richard is Managing Partner of Arete Executive, an Executive Search specialist company, and a qualified executive coach. He commenced his recruitment career after eleven years of working in the property industry in senior business development and operational management roles. Having been an executive level recruitment consultant for over 14 years, he has also held senior leadership roles within the recruitment industry, including being an Executive Director for a multi-award winning recruitment organisation.
Arete Executive evolved in 2009 due to Richard’s extensive executive recruitment experience and reputation in the market. In this role, he has recruited leadership positions throughout the world, with clients ranging from SMEs to multi-national listed organisations.
